Welcome to all Parents of P1 Pupils !

A warm welcome to all parents of P1 girls. It is going to be an exciting year ahead for you and your daughters as they journey into a new chapter in their lives-- primary school education.
Many of you signed up to be in the loop in 2008 and we thank you for your prompt action in doing so.
We will be including your contact details in our database and will soon contact you. In the meantime, please read our posts of how the CCEs have been involved in school programmes and activities.
Hope to catch you at the SFE parent workshops and other CCE events !

FAMILY DAY 8 MARCH 2008

The school will be organising a Family Day on 8 March 2008. It will be from 9am to 4pm.
For those of you who came for this year's Family Day, you must have seen many parents helping out at the food stalls.
Next year's Family Day will be on a bigger scale as the school is hoping to raise funds for the upgrading works. As parents, we certainly would like to help and support the school in their fund raising efforts.
Some members of our CCE Exco are part of the school's fund-raising committee and the preparation work has begun.
There will be many more games and food stalls, a jumble sale, lots of fun activities for the kids and also family bonding activities.
We hope that you can contribute in whatever area you are comfortable with. You can donate prizes, goodies for the jumble sale, sponsorship of food stalls and even your helping hands on the day itself.
Please email to our special fund raising email address :
sacpfundraise@yahoo.com.sg

and let us know which area you would like to contribute.
Hope to hear from you soon !

APPEAL FOR DONATIONS FOR SCHOOL BUILDING FUND

All of you must have read in the October issue of the Parents' Connection that the school will be undergoing PRIME very soon.
The school will be embarking on a number of fund raising projects in 2008 and will certainly need the help of CCEs in these projects.
The target amount for PRIME is $730,000. (based on 2004’s estimate)
So far the school has raised $ 478,000.
On behalf of the school, we would like to appeal for generous donors who would like to donate to the school’s building fund.
Kindly address your cheques to “SACP Development Fund” and submit it to the school’s general office.
If you have any queries about donations, you can also contact the general office or email to the school's generic email address.

Children's Day 2007

This year's Children's Day was a very special one for the girls as they each went home with a goodie bag of gifts.
The Lucky Dip, free ice cream, free popcorn and snacks were all sponsored by some very generous parents.
We would like to thank all parents who sponsored the items and parents who came down to help us at the event.
We put in alot of effort into this event but it would not have been possible if parents did not chip in.
The girls were so excited and very delighted. One girl told her teacher, "This is a real cool way to celebrate Children's Day!"
To all the girls of SACPS, we wish them a Blessed Children's Day !

International Peace Day 2007

The school commemorated International Peace Day on 21 Sept 2007. All students and staff were given slips of coloured paper to pen down their Peace Pledges. They then looped these slips of papers and formed their class Peace Chains. Afterwhich, the entire school came out of their classrooms to join hands while singing the song 'Heal the World'. It was a heartwarming sight!
CCEs helped to put up these Peace Chains in the hall and the canteen. Thanks for helping us make the Peace Ceremony a meaningful one !

CCE Get-Together Nite

The Exco had been planning the event with great enthusiasm and eagerness.
Finally, the day arrived.
Many thanks to all parents who attended the CCE Get-Together nite.
It was a real good experience for parents to gather, share ideas and make friends.
There was a focused group discussion on questions relating to parents involvement in the school.

Hope the evening was an opportunity for parents to get to know the CCE exco better.
We will contact all parents who have volunteered their areas of expertise. Hope to see more parents at our next gathering !

Behind the Scenes

Many behind the scenes created opportunites for new friendships, coffee sessions and laughter. Take a look at one of our "behind the scenes" !

Brownies Packing Factory

Take a Look at Who's Who in the CCE Exco

We re-structured and formed an Exco in January 2007. Here's the structure. Get to know us when you come for workshops or get-together nites. We really need to build a support network among the CCEs.
Once we get our glamour shots done, we'll certainly put them up here !

Mothers' Day Cookies and Brownies Sale in May

The project was initiated by Miss Annie Foo, the teacher who works closely with us. Diana, managed to get a parent who so generously donated cookies for the sale. Alice got us a baker who also generously baked us some lovely brownies for the sale.

The girls, teachers and even canteen staff loved the cookies and brownies. We had to have a 2nd sale as the response was too overwhelming.

Proceeds were donated to a mission in Mongolia! We were so proud of the hard work and contributions of all the CCEs who supported in this project.

Workshops for Parents by SFE Programme

Since the setup of the School Family Education Programme in the school in April 2006, many parents have benefitted through the workshops organised. These parenting workshops have been well-attended. Angelia, our Exco member and SFE co-ordinator has tirelessly organised these workshops by getting relevant and good speakers this past year.
Do click on the link below for more information about the SFE Programme.http://www.sfe.org.sg/

Tsuen Wan Hong Kong School Visit

The CCEs played hosts to parents of students from Tsuen Wan Hong Kong School in April. There was a tour around the school and a casual 'makan' session with the parents. It was an interesting experience for all.

Here's a pic of the whole group.

Sports Carnival 2007

Sports Carnival was a blast as CCEs gathered to show their athletic talents.
Not forgetting the points gained for their daughters' Houses!

SACPS Family Day 2007

Charles, our vice-chairperson, dressed as a clown on Family Day, 10 March 2007! Hey, we managed to thrill the kids with our very own clown. Best of it all, he came free of charge !

Our very own sweets shop at the Family Day !

Our famous face-painter, Aunty Joyce, who had to go for a 'breather' after the never-ending queues of kids!

The mother and daughter team who helped with the food distribution. Thanks so much !

Our First Encounter

Our very first encounter with the school of wonderful girls in SACPS. The introduction of the CCE Exco was done in February 2007 and very timely on CCE Recognition Day and Canossian Saints' Day. We were overwhelmed. Susan, our chairperson, gave a speech and explained the CCE structure to the school. We also promoted our maiden event-- SACPS Family Day !

Welcome to our very own CCEs InSPiRE Blog !

Hi CCEs, thank you for visiting this page. We are committed to enhance the Canossian Style of Education through greater involvement as parents and partners.
We named it InSPiRE and it stands for :

In Support of Parents in their Roles in Education

We hope that through this blog, you'll get to know us better and know what we have done and are planning to do for the parents in SACPS.
This blogpage is a new initiative and idea but we are certainly open to more ideas and suggestions !
Take a browse through our photos and past events.
You can contact us at cce.sacps@yahoo.com.sg for any comments, suggestions or better still volunteer for any upcoming event. We really hope to hear from you.
Thanks and happy browsing !
